The Love Remains

30”x40” | Mixed Media on Canvas

$6,800

Original mixed media landscape painting by Jacqueline Claire inspired by West Texas, exploring memory, love, and the enduring beauty of place.

The Love Remains is a love letter to place, to earth, and to life itself — a testament to memory’s power to distill experience to its most essential truth.

This original mixed media landscape painting sings of my affinity for the land. Though inspired by West Texas after a visit to Alpine — one of my lifelong return points in the far reaches of the desert — it ultimately speaks to something universal.

The land unfolds in bands of color and winding forms — peaks and valleys, chapters and seasons — suggesting not just terrain, but a life seen in retrospect.

Layered fields evoke memory’s strata: the winding path, the shifting light, the years gathering along the horizon. Trials and rough edges soften in the rearview. What once felt urgent settles into spaciousness. What once felt fractured becomes whole.

In the final analysis, only the love remains.

And as if in quiet celebration, a blossoming pink tree rises in the foreground — warm and luminous, rooted in memory beneath the ever-present moon. The tree stands as witness to a land — and a life — that held you, even in its most arid passages.

Blending contemporary landscape painting with symbolic abstraction, this piece offers a contemplative focal point — an invitation to breathe into the present and remember what endures.

Signed and ready to hang. Slightly textured and with satin varnish. Includes a handwritten story inscription and a certificate of provenance.
