This was commissioned by a dear friend and sincere admirer of my work. It was her idea to paint “abstract necklaces” hanging from nails in a wood board. This is the magic of commissions: that something lasting is created in a spirit of collaboration that simply wouldn’t exist without both of us. Sheila believes in supporting art because it was a dream she didn’t have the opportunity to pursue in her youth. I feel that art comes in many forms, the most meaningful being the beauty with which we live our lives and how we treat others. In this way, Sheila is an amazing artist! In her honor I named this piece after her dream.
