From upheaval, chaos and confusion comes the delight of something beautiful, unexpected and lasting. A message the process of art-making consistently delivers:

Roll with it

It's a good reminder about life! Often there are frustrations, disappointments and false turns - but whenever they happen in painting those very challenges evolve in to the best aspects of a piece. Like tangible proof that in those messy phases there is indeed a "higher good" unfolding.

This isn't just "talk". I really experience this all the time. Often I don't handle the challenges gracefully in the moment - but then I learn (yet again!) this sweet wisdom - vowing to remember next time I'm in crisis. Now that I've written a post about it maybe I finally will :)

Speaking of visions of travel (per today's "19 Days" post :) ... I was just able to take a purposeful little road trip to one of my favorite out-of-the-way places. Nothing speaks to my spirit like the dry air, big sky, and distant mountains
There are few things I love as much as big open skies at sunset (and omg a day moon! 😍) What about you? What are the sights that spark the greatest delight in you?

This painting is featured in today's "19 Days of Inspiration" email (make
